居住在或停留在中国除酒店以外的任何住所的外国人，包括：已购买或正在租赁的住宿、相关机构或私人住宅。

Foreigners who reside or stay in any domicile located in China other than hotels, including: accommodation that has been purchased or is being rented, relevant institutions, or private residences.
一、证明文件
1.识别
申请人身份证件的一份原件（原件仅供检查）。
2.住房文件
如果申请人购买了房子，则必须提供财产所有权证书的原件。如果房子是出租的，则必须提供租赁协议的原件（原件仅供检查）。

One original copy of the applicant's identification documents (the original copy is for inspection only).
2. Housing Documentation
If the house has been purchased by the applicant, then an original copy of the property ownership certificate must be provided. If the house is being rented, then an original copy of the lease agreement must be provided (the original copy is for inspection only).

根据《中华人民共和国出境入境管理法》第39条，外国公民在中国入住酒店时，酒店有义务按照酒店业公安局的规定进行所有相关的住宿登记手续。酒店必须向酒店所在地区的当地公安机关提交外国人的住宿登记信息。
对于居住在酒店以外的住所的外国人，他们或为他们提供住宿的人必须在外国人抵达后24小时内，在居住地的公安机关办理登记手续。
Notes
In accordance with Article 39 of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China, whenever a foreigner citizen stays at a hotel in China, the hotel is obliged to carry out all relevant accommodation registration procedures in accordance with the regulations from the Public Security Administration of the Hotel Industry. The hotel must submit the foreigner's accommodation registration information to the local public security organs in the area where the hotel is located.
For foreigners residing or staying in domiciles other than hotels, they or the persons who are accommodating them must, within 24 hours after the foreigner's arrival, go through the registration formalities with the public security organ at the place of residence.
